Bolstering Earnings Capability
The Bank is a regional financial institution serving Wakayama Prefecture and the southern part of Osaka Prefecture with community-based financial services.
The Bank contributes to the development of the regional economy in a number of ways, for example through its core banking operations, in which the Bank redistributes the capital (deposits) it receives from regional customers back to them as financial services (loans).
We also provide many other services, such as information for corporate growth and support for those wishing to enter new businesses or improve management.
In our deposit accounts, we offer enhanced functional services useful for the daily life of local residents, such as salary deposit, pension remittance, and the automatic transfer of public service charges. Not only do we provide these comprehensive financial services, we are also committed to fulfilling our social responsibility as a corporate citizen active in its local community in cultural, environmental and educational areas.

Major Activities

Fulfilling its role as a regional financial institution, the Bank actively engages in initiatives aimed at stimulating the economy of its local region.
To reinforce managerial support and foster local companies, the Bank’s branches and headquarters work together to offer comprehensive financial services. For this purpose, we have designed a number of functions. The Pyxis Consulting Service Office, for example, helps those wishing to set up companies or enter new business fields, and also addresses their financial needs, for example by providing information on potential business partners. The Management Support Office helps customers prepare business improvement plans and offers other assistance. And the Business Support Center responds swiftly and meticulously to the funding needs of small and medium-sized companies.

Pyxis Consulting Service Office
To provide assistance to people wishing to set up their own companies or to enter new business fields, and to companies seeking to grow their business, we have established the Pyxis Consulting Service Office at our headquarters. This special team has brought greater strength to our branch support system and provides consulting and support services to meet the diverse needs of customers, whether those needs encompass launching an enterprise, initiating a new business, making public offering of equity, undertaking a merger and acquisition, advancing into overseas markets, executing a business succession, or finding a business partner.

Support for venture companies
At the Pyxis Consulting Service Office, we have developed a system to foster and support venture companies, in addition to meeting the diverse needs of local companies, in cooperation with the Kiyo Lease & Capital Co., Ltd., a member of the Kiyo Group. Specifically, we have built a network that incorporates industry, the government and academia with government-affiliated financial institutions such as Development Bank of Japan, Japan Finance Corporation for Small and Medium Enterprise, and Central Bank for Commercial and Industrial Cooperatives, as well as Wakayama Prefecture, Credit Guarantee Corporation of Wakayama and universities.
As a result of these efforts, as part of our role as a regional financial institution, we have successfully pioneered a new business model for fostering venture companies and helping businesses find partners. This model involves participation in university-launched venture businesses from the foundation and the construction of a scheme that encompasses operations ranging from purchase and manufacturing to sales channels at the initiative of the Bank.
As a specific outcome of these initiatives, the Bank and the Kiyo Lease & Capital Co., Ltd. helped a customer launch a successful initial public offering (IPO) in December 2004.
We remain committed to contributing to the revitalization of our local economy by assisting companies that are seeking to go public.

Financial services for local governments

The Bank serves as the designated financial institution for 31 local governments, including the Wakayama Prefectural Government and municipalities within Wakayama and Osaka prefectures. Under agreements with these entities, we have set up and staffed sections within city and town offices around the prefecture.
We also contribute to investment in regional public works by meeting temporary financing needs and underwriting municipal bonds for prefectural and municipal authorities.
